a rainy memorial weekend

Hello,

Well, this is my first blog post and I'm really excited about it!! I decided to create to create this blog because I am so bad at emailing my friends and family. Maybe this might help and no one will want to write me out of their friendship list!!

How is everyone this Memorial Day weekend? It is very, very cold and rainy today which doesn't really help to get into the summer mode. But, I'm sure it'll get better in the next few who knows when days, weeks, months....!

I attended a silent retreat last weekend by Dominican University, where I went to undergraduate school, about the poet Rainer Maria Rilke. The concept behind the retreat was to enjoy the peace and quiet surrounding the area while we only spoke when we went to class. I know, how did I survive a silent retreat you are thinking to yourselves. I confess, I spoke to Kate at 2:30 am one night-actually I whispered-hoping my neighbors wouldn't hear me. Now mind you, only Kate would be up at 2:00 am text messaging me to have me return her text with a phone call!!!!! I love ya Kate-what would I ever do without you? The retreat turned out to be beyond my expectations so I'm thrilled I went.

What else has been going on in my life? I went to see my Godchildren about ten days ago. Annaleise and Jack are now 18 months old and they are incredible. We went to lap sit or lap time, whatever it's called, at the library where the teacher sings to them and with them. This lady was great with the kids, plus it was too much fun to watch the kids do all the things she did. After lapwhatever, Rosi, the kids, and I went back to the house and I watch them ride their tricycles. How do 18 month old beings ride bikes already? And let me tell you, both Annaleise and Jack are great on them. They both use their feet for the brakes plus they go fast. Wow is the only word I could think of to describe these awesome kids. What will they do next? I will say that I usually shed a tear or two over them for one reason or another. They are happy tears, tears of joy that they are in my life and tears of sadness that my Dad never got a chance to see the kids. My Dad would have so loved the kids and I know they would have loved him also since my Dad was just a big kid at heart. I will post some pictures of them soon.

Anyway, so much for my first blog. I hope this turns out to be a fun way to communicate to everyone. Please comment, or sent me messages, whatever your heart's desire.

Thank you everyone-Scrapbookingly yours-Kim
